Today I read about an 84-year-old former freedom fighter, who sweeps a 100-metre stretch of road in front of his bungalow twice every day. He’s been doing it for the last 40 years. Even now when he’s ailing and weak, he continues to do it. And he does it with a lot of pride. “The only time I haven’t swept the road is when I was sick or when I wasn’t in town,” he says.
